Taking Advantage Of The Best Improvised Camping Equipment
by Rain Philips
Camping may be one of the most exciting parts of summer vacation for young children but then again, it could be one of the most tiresome activities for the adults who will be accompanying children on their camping trip. Kids may not be required to worry so much about the things that they would need to bring for the camp out. The reason for this is because the adult who will be accompanying them to their camping trip will have to take responsibility to the other stuff that needs to be taken care of. It would be a shame if the kids won't be able to enjoy the camping trip because they left behind most of the items that should be on their checklist in the first place. If you wish to make your kids become aware and responsible at the same time with the things that they would need to bring for a camping trip, here's a checklist that you might want to refer to:
As for the tent, you would need to bring ground cloth or tarp, extra stakes, shade tarp, poles, rope or stakes, axe or hammer, mat for the tent entrance, dust pan or brush and of course, the bedding that you will be sleeping on once you have set up your tent correctly. You might also want to make certain that your sleeping bag will have the sheets or blankets, pillow, air mattress, sleeping pad, cot or tarp, air pump, repair kit for air mattress and some utility bags for your easy storage.
In terms of cooking you might need most of the next items but you really do not have to bring all of it. Your cooking equipment should include a large water jug & water bucket, coolers or ice, thermos, stove with fuel or propane, matches or a lighter, charcoal, firewood or buddy burner. You might also want to try bringing a Dutch oven, tin can stove or a box oven, campfire grill, fire starters such as some newspaper, tablecloth, thumb tacks, clips, plates & bowls, paper plates & bowls. If you have more room, you can also bring some silverware or plastic silverware, measuring cups, heavy-duty aluminum foil, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, clothes pins, cooking oil, containers for food, potholders or oven mitts, pots and frying pans with lids.
To keep things clean as you go, make sure you also bring soap for outside of pots and pans. You also might want to include some cook utensils-spatula, knife, spoon, tongs, skewers, grill forks, a can opener and a bottle opener to your list. If you have the trailer type of vehicle where you could bring some more products, you can bring a folding table, pie irons. mugs, paper cups, some mixing bowls, cutting board, the ever useful ziplock bags, napkins, dish pan, dish rags, towels, scrub pad, seasonings, sugar, condiments and a potato peeler.
Anyway, a camping journey should not be as stressful as bringing your entire home with you when you go on a camp out. Camping out is supposed to mean leaving outside your comfort zone and to live the ordinary life. If in case you forget some of the products on your list, you don't have to worry. All you need to do is to improvise.
